A memory cycle at full boil.
Sandisk makes NAND flash for data centers, phones, PCs and cards. Q1 FY27 revenue rose 378% to $11.0B at an 85% gross margin, with data-center sales up 61% in a quarter. An 8-for-1 split takes effect Nov 20. The stock is up more than 6× in a year, but NAND is cyclical and the shares swing hard: beta is above 5.

Watch list
What moves the thesis, sorted by direction.
Datacenter as a growth pillar
Datacenter revenue rose 61% in a quarter to $4.80B, 44% of sales, up from $269M a year earlier. Management says the long-term-deal pipeline exceeds its supply through the end of the decade.
Pricing power
Q1 growth was about 60% volume and 40% price, a healthier mix than Q4. Q2 FY27 is guided to another record, $12.2–12.6B at 84.5–85.5% gross margin, with modest price increases.
Cash returns
No debt and $5.1B of cash. Sandisk bought back $5.0B of stock (3.2M shares) in Q1, leaving about $10.5B of the $15.5B authorization. The 8-for-1 split (record date Nov 9) does not change the company's value.
Customer prepayments
Eight NBM customers have committed to $93.9B of minimum revenue, backed by $16.5B of deposits and guarantees, covering about half of FY27 bits and two-thirds of FY28. Q1 free cash flow was $6.3B reported and $5.7B adjusted.
NAND is cyclical
Margins went from 26% to 85% in a year on price. When supply catches up, prices and margins can fall just as fast. Consumer revenue fell 29% last quarter and 39% from a year earlier.
Volatility
Beta is above 5. The stock fell 56% in five weeks after the June peak and dropped 5.3% on report day itself; after hours it swung between about −3% and +3%.
